The Muppets DELIVER!

I must admit, I had ridiculously high expectations for the new Muppet movie. I grew up with The Muppets. I want my kids to get hooked on Kermit, Miss Piggy and the rest of the posse because of what it represents to me: wacky, silly, good ol fashioned fun.

Nowadays, it sure seems like a great deal of children’s entertainment is trying too hard to be new and relevant. Everything is 3-D, loud, and flashy. Can The Muppets compete?

Thankfully, yes. And they do it in such a stellar way. The music is a tribute to The Muppets of yore, with new indie flavor and sensibility. The screenplay is fresh and perfectly takes off where The Muppets last left us.
Amy Adams, Jason Segal, and Chris Cooper mesh so well with our fabulously felt and furry friends. Seeing Miss Piggy in Zac Posen threads brought the energy level to another level entirely.

I have so many of the song numbers in my head days later. I have to give a specific shout out to: “Muppet of a Man.” Yes, it is that good.

This isn’t a trip down memory lane, this is a new beginning….for an entirely new generation of Muppet Mania. Hop along for a ride on the rainbow connection. Oh, no, I didn’t….
